Sad that the woman died, but this did crack me up laughing this morning.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer gets a gun and uses it for everything including opening beer cans.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

This reminds me of several stories in America where high school/college kids go psycho and kill lots of people.
As this story proves, obviously the problem is free and easy access to foreign moveis and heavy metal music and nothing at all to do with the fact that you can buy a gun anywhere you want

Don't make generalizations. They are rude and hurtful.

I've really never understood the american gun laws. Why does anyone really even need to own a gun.

While I wish no one would have a gun, I respect the rights of others to own a gun in order to reasonably protect themselves from harm. In the U.S. you can't just shoot a mugger and get away with it. Use of a gun has to be deemed fit by a court after the fact. I do hope that the U.S. will continue to enforce stricter gun laws, but I do not wish for them to take them away completely.

I'm not making generalisations. From an English point of view, and as a video game/heavy metal/foreign movie fan, I find it to be completely ridiculous when something like Columbine happens and the fact that two 16 year old boys can get hold of semi-automatics is somewhat overlooked in favour of the fact that they listened to Nine Inch Nails.

I apologise if I caused offence but I'm not trying to step on anyones toes or cause controversy or offend anyone, but that's my opinion I'm afraid.

As Ecko says, there is no generalisation.

i wonder, can anyone give me a name of any games tester that has ever gone loopy and killed anyone?

afterall, they are "exposed" to video games the most out of anyone else surely....so if games can influence and make people agressive...then these people should be chained to the ground at all costs!

i have a bee in my bonnet too about why games need age ratings, yet for the most part, books dont...for example, i'd ban adults from buying harry potter books for themselves...or. of caught on a train with one, they have a choice, either eat every page, or go to jail for a week...

im slightly tired and tetchy as i write this...

The book debate is interesting, One theory about this I heard was the people who go out and are infulanced by such things are too thick to read a book. I think I heard that on radio 4.

yeah, i read horror books years before i ever saw one...horror films were easy to sit through after what my imagination cooked up...

that should be a books disclaimer...

"warning - may fire up your imagination!"

i hate any argument that excuses bad parenting...nowadays it seems bad form to question parents abilities...

you need a licence to keep a dog, yet anyone can drop a sprog....well, ok, you have to be female, but my point is still valid...

guns should be given to everyone on the planet, just make bullets illegal, or cost a million quid each...at least then, if you get shot at, it proves the other persons commitment...
