gambling routines should fit in nicely, as could colour changing poker chips with the right chat.

Killer elite pro may go down well too.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

I was thinking about making my own James Bond one, and getting a small plastic gun and painting it gold?

Have a look at the opening card trick in Nestor Hato's new DVD. He's faking a pistol with his hands and shoots the selected card out of a fanned deck. Very much 007ish though...

Here's the footage I'm talking about:

That'll be a nice opener for your planned theme evening.

BTW, I can highly recommend the whole DVD.

Cheers,
Magnus

Tarot card readings a la Solitaire in Live & Let Die.

Bah. You're a man. Still I think a wee bit of the old tarot would be just what the good doctor (no) ordered. But then I always think that don't I? Do I regret it? Well, I do have a quantum of solice, however you only live twice.

I suggest you think about things you associate with James Bond, then see if you know anything that you can adapt to fiy. The reworking of 'Killer Elite' is a great idea, but make your own, with Bond villains.

I like the Martini chop cup.

When I think of James Bond, I think of:

Licence to kill (not necessarily the film!)
007
Moneypenny
M
Q
Gadgets
Cars
Beautiful women
Gambling
Cigarettes
Martinis
Guns
Fights
Exotic travel
Classic songs (well, they used to be classics back in the day)
Eccentric villains
Henchmen
Every other 00 agent getting killed
Huge enemy bases

So, that gives us:

A card trick where the cards make 007
Any kind of gambing routine
One of those "car finds the chosen card" effects (Morlas or Kornwinder Cars)
Music prediction using Bond themes
A prediction effect where the spectator chooses an exotic location, villain and gadget Bond uses to defeat him (or her)
Any kind of trick using a penny (lots of gimmicks use the old style British penny)
Version of the magician's insurance policy trick, but using Bond's licence to kill instead
A jokey effect with letter cards (you have to Q for a long time before you get to P)
The new 'Branded' effect might be good. It has the card link, and you can also do an awful joke when you pull out the lighter. "This is Felix Lighter." Sorry.

I have an effect where you divine which of the films they have in mind. You'll have to work out a method for that yourself (there are lots of ways you could do it, of course, including a good old CT).

EDIT: As well as 'regular' playing cards with pictures from Bond films, you can also get a two deck version that's like 'Top Trumps'. One deck is people, the other is gadgets and cars (I think). Either sort could turn a 'find a card' trick into a 'think of the villain/Bond girl' effect.

Are there any impressive watch tricks that would work with this?

an easy one would be business card sized, have a list of bad guys from the films, someone selects one as the assassination target and marks the back of the card with a red X...

it's placed back and mixed up by them, then spread out name up on a table...you can either stab it with a cocktail stick from your martini or something...

just s***k the cards, as they're marking their one, you have all the time in the world (pardon the pun) to do what's needed...

This is a marketed effect by a Scottish "hard man" magician whos name I can't recall. He's a mate of Jerry "Gobsh*te, Side Steal, Doin' This Tae Earn a Meal " Sadowitz. He does it with famous movie star killers like Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver and Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction on the cards.

Who is that guy???

Ok so Ive had an idea for my bond thingy

A simple GOLDFINGER trick, of turning stuff to gold, mainly coins?

http://www.magicshop.co.uk/p2830/Gold_5 ... _(_UK_50p_)/product_info.html

But I what cud I do with it?

It needs to be as clean as possible a simple touching of a normal 50p and then it turns to gold? what are my choices folks?

Instead of a Martini chop cup, try using one of those martini shakers.
