There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to art. Art is life and life is art there is no difference to me.
This is a circular argument. I can substitute pretty much anything that I wish and you cannot argue the logic, because it is circular. For example:
In my opinion, life is a bunch of manure and manure is a perfect analogy for life. Life is manure and manure is life - there is no difference to me.
So, do you now believe that life is manure?
Further, life is like a manure sandwich - the more bread that you have, the less manure that you have to eat. Convinced yet?
Also, you point out that the magic castle calls themselves, "The Academy of Magical Arts." But, they also have a dress code:
Please note: The Magic Castle has a very strict dress code: coat and tie for men, and a dress or skirt for women. Absolutely no casual wear is permitted.
So, if they have the final say in the fact that magic is an art, then certainly their dress code should be a requirement of all magicians everywhere...Are you prepared to leave your house with a coat and tie for the rest of your life? Well, I guess you just have to suffer for your art, eh?
Magic is a performance art, this is true. Dance is an art, also. However, do you consider dance steps to be art? Whether a dance step or a particular sleight, tools themselves are not an art and magic itself is not an art. It can be "artfully" performed, but that does not an art make.
At the end of the day, though, you are certainly welcome to believe anything that you want - just ask these guys and they'll let you know that you are certainly within your rights to believe anything that you please.
Mike.
