MagicBill and MindPaul NEW CLIP

Postby MagicBill » Aug 6th, '08, 23:47

Well, Paul and I finally have the DVDs of our recent show, so we'll be uploading various clips over the next couple of days!

Here's one to get us started...

We look forward to your feedback!

The opening was good! I liked it to the point that I want to see the rest. When will you upload the others? :)

I can't think of any criticism in regards to your effect, I find it funny and relaxing to your audience even. However, I could suggest that it would be either you or Paul would do the introductions formally and the other would just add up.

Please post the rest! :)

I was very impressed! When you started out with the jokes from the envelopes I thought it could be a ridiuclously cheesy effect, but you capitalised on the laughs and turned them into pure magic!

I liked that a lot. Nice job, and I like the Banana.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

So, out of 100 people that have viewed our clip, only 3 have feedback for us?

Really, I don't understand this forum at times.

Steady on, you need to take into account that many of those 'views' will be 'bots scouring the net for data and general information, not necessarily humans. Even if TM members have viewed the post they may not have clicked to view the link, especially if they're at work and can't easily view vids.

Really enjoyed that - looking forward to more.

I've been especially curious to see how mentalism and magic play out together in a longer show with two different performers..

I was curious for more, too :) ... and found this:

You got really lucky with your spectator pick... :P

I love the "deck appearance"-joke but why are you always standing on the far left side? In the movie you always kind of appear to be "hiding in the corner". Maybe it would look different if I was in the audience. I don't know.

The effect was lovely.

Your opening remarks were somewhat clunky - there wasn't the rhythm needed for the back and forth aspect. Also I'm not sure whether the comments about Psychology etc. were supposed to be a parody of Dezzer's statement or were just derivative; if the former you should make it more obvious you're parodying his remarks and if the letter I'd be tempted to drop them entirely. Find your own statement if you have one at all, or at the very least provide some pseudo-explanation of where the psychology and suggestion came into play, how you managed to influence his choice of number etc. Otherwise they're redundant.

Nerves showed through a little with the uncertain chuckling at some of the comments you made and the constant movement, which detracted a little from the professionalism of it all.

But yes, the effect was very nice! Certainly wasn't expecting the denouement to happen as it did!

CARDAZ..... Thanks for your comments. They will be taken on board. I agree the back and forth didn't run smoothly. It did in rehearsal. Yes a little nervous. We were not trying to be like "Dezzer". Ican see why you thought that. The comments were made regarding the whole show and not just that first effect. Again thanks for your observations.
