In all fairness, some magic tricks would be a great way to draw people in, and I do know someone who uses them in the same way.
Im not sure the quick fix is the answer though. Unless you've got time to practice and learn properly, you'd be better off with some self-working magic. With less than perfect technique, you're liable to make a mistake and expose what it is you're doing. As a beginner, I know! That's why im severely limiting any demonstration until i've got the technique down sweetly.
Im sure you'll appreciate though, that you can't go onto a forum of magicians, many accomplished and working professionals, and expect them to tell you the secrets of their art and in many cause, their livelihood.
