What are you reading?

Ian the Mental-Ian has us all talking about the special books in our lives, so I thought I'd kick off a related thread.

What are you reading in your leisure time right now? Studying doesn't count, neither does research, even if you're enjoying it. What are you reading just for the sake of reading it, either fiction or non-fiction? What's on your bedside table?

I'm currently working my way through the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe. He wrote a lot more than just horror, including satirical humour not a million miles away from Mark Twain.

"Magic teaches us how to lie without guilt." --Eugene Burger
"Hi, Robbie!" "May your mischief be spread." --Derren Brown

I feel bad to say it but it's Harry Potter, I needed a book for the bus the other day and The Half Blood Prince was the first to hand that would fit in my bag, so there we go. Although I tend to spend my spare time at home playing COD4 or GTA4 now; casual books are for travel purposes.
Usually I go with Terry Pratchett or something (Douglas Adams is always good for a laugh).

FHM, Nuts, Zoo and Front magazines. Not very intellectual but nevertheless entertaining!

Not sure why but I don't really like novels and cannot remember the last one I actually read. Sorry.

Currently some really strange books:

Watchmen (A graphic novel, which I don't usually read but this is incredible)

The Wonderful Tale of Henry Sugar by Roald Dahl.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

The movie of watchmen is due for next year. I hope they do a better job with that than has been done with the other Alan Moore movies that have been made.

I really hope so, if they do it right the movie could either be amazing, or crash and burn.

The Vanished Man by Jeffery Deaver. A mystery/suspense novel, decided to try to find as many novels about magicians as I could.

Have to pass the time somehow when you work at a bookstore...

A written prediction to end all written predictions!

On a similar note, while recovering from another tummy bug (must have been a bad pint...), I'm busily reading the published resource accounts for government departments, trying to calculate just how much data they've lost in the past year for a feature I'm writing. It's a lot! Far more than the boredom of ploughing through management accounts.
