Vitamin C is good for hangovers. Make sure you ahve had a nice fatty meal before you start drinking. Then before you go to bed take vitamin C and have loads of water or lucozade.

My friend has used the exact same phrase before, although not to avoid a hangover, merely so more can be consumed.

The best method was some paracetamol and a glass of water before you go to bed.

Not that this is related but......I can't get over how much robstanley1's avatar looks like Jon Tickle from Brainiac.

Why bother with a 'cure' you drink, you know the score, get up and get on with your day, and stop with the whining. Or don't get up stick your head under the pillow and wait for the day or three to pass.

Most of the hangover is from dehydration, so taking plenty of fluid with some sugar (fructose is best) will see you right. If you can plan ahead, leave out 2 paracetamol and a pint of orange juice by your bed when you go out. Take the pills (obviously) and drink as much of the juice as you can possibly manage - I've woken up fresh as a daisy after some absolute benders with this method.

As for the IV fluid, I've seen it done, but if you want to let your hammered friends try to put a venflon in you - or even worse, try to put one in yourself one-handed, when you're drunk - be my guest!

Oh yeah - if you have any of those hangover cure type fizzy powders (You can get "Resolve" pretty cheaply from Wilkos), have one BEFORE you go to bed, as well as in the morning if you need it. It's basically fizzy electrolyte solution with painkiller, which is just what you need, but prevention is better than the cure!

If you've left it too late, I agree with Mark - stone cold curry or pizza, preferably washed down with Irn Bru.

I see all this 'large glass of water' advice but lets be realistic. You need to have at least two pints of water sitting around before you even go out. Remembering to try and drink one is a start but having the other one nearby when you wake up is the best.

And of course, a Full English :D

On a side note, after much experiment the best is to continue and then slowly wean yourself off!

Bah, you're not allowed to line your stomach before you go out... or "eatin's cheatin'" as they say up here.

I used to drink a nice big pint of really salty water if I was feeling dog rough - this then caused one to instantly projectile vomit with a ferocity that'll take your breath away!! You've now reached the point where you cannot possibly feel any worse... so naturally you begin to feel better!!

If I've nothing to do then an Irn Bru is good. If I have to work then an apple, an orange and a banana and you'll be raring to start all over again.
