Putting a spectators card second from top

Postby doyler35 » Sep 29th, '08, 19:48

Hey there,

Can anyone share a method for placing a spectators card second from top after they have selected it? The two methods I know are p**m then r****ce or to shuffle it in, but neither of these suit the effect.
Thanks in advance!

The pass can easily be manipulated into putting a card second from top. The cover pass is something else to look at too.

This is easily achievable depending on your skill level, but you'll have to be a bit more specific if you want helpful advice.

You've said that the two methods you have aren't suitable for the effect, but you haven't said why they aren't - this makes it impossible to give you advice on how to achieve what you want.

Personally I'd either perform a cover pass/add-on pass or I'd use a shuffle control to retain the top packet and just strip an X card on top of the controlled packet, but let us know (without exposure, of course!) the specifics and we can help a lot better.

As an after-thought, if you don't require the spectator to actually handle the selection, you can force a double, then by placing it on top it is automatically second from top...

wow, that was quick, thanks.

Yes, I should have said my intentions. The effect is I put the spectators card into the pilie of the four aces only for it to jump from the pile and appear reversed in the deck. In other words, the card which the specs card is placed underneath is a specific card. Its unavoidable this card is at the top of the deck when spec makes the selection. Shuffling will place an indifferent card above the specs card. P***ing seems really unnatural "okay put your card on top of the deck so i can pick up the deck and place your card into this pile".

Sorry if I didnt explain it too well, trying to be careful with what I say. Thanks again!

(PS - Queen of Clubs, I love Sealed Fates, can't wait to get practising it!)

using a M***o T**t can make it look like you're placing it in the middle of the deck.

Why I didn't think of that?

That or the cover pass if you don't want to shuffle.

this video shows how I use it in my ACR for the first reveal and Erdnase. Simple enough but very deceptive.

in theory, you could use something similar to the method in the chicago opening.

A couple effects on Oz Pearlmans "Born to perform" have a method to do it...misdirection (and only slightly) is all that is required.

If you can control it to the top, just run, jog and shuffle as normal.

not sure of the name but try the first move in Lorayne's ACR
