I have no idea why, but I have this strange feeling in the pit of my stomache that I made my first thread here that accomplished something for other people! Woohoo!

And although I never thought to think about it, and I think those of you who said scientific explanations are not the way to go, I agree. It just becomes too confusing.

I think audience interaction patter is a great way to go. I hardly think I need to explain why.

A tip to those who use the puppy one: Get some dog stickers and put one on the card, in addition to having it signed. So cute, and it makes a great souvennir (spelling?) for the spectator to take home. Also, it especially hits home if one of your stickers resembles a dog they have or once had.

Here's a different set of patter you should try out if you borrow decks: you borrow a deck, then explain that every card turned the same, then you might be able to go into a modfied ACR that doesn't show other cards. Include a blank fan with the card on the face, and a Hindu shuffle (every so often showing it's the same;same principal as the force) for good measure. Then snap and change it back to normal!

If you're using the puppy patter, don't worry about dog stickers or signing the card, the point is to have them drawa puppy on the card instead of a signature. Just the drawing can provide a good minute or two of fun entertainment on its own. And is a great way to put the specs at ease and into the mood.

That works too.

Whatever you do, have the spectator sign a freely chosen card. You don't have to force a card for this to work, but their signature does all the magic. If you don't have the card signed, the spectator might think you have more than one or two of the same card...

Yes, but the dog they draw is what they drew, so I couldn't of drawn an identical dog before. Anyway. a good thing to do is to do 2 phases with the card unsigned so that the spectator is sure there is a duplicate, and then you pounce when you have the card signed.

That really is the best AC routine I've ever seen

I think it needs a new phase using my patented 51 card lift though

Umm...I can't understand if that's a joke. How about you honestly single lift, then pass it second to bottom. It probably a joke, though, because there's no practical use.

I too have seen this move and to say there's nothing practical about it? You my friend just need to see the move in action

I can't think of many uses. Oh well, you're the proffesional. Who knows what formulates in your mind? I'm ready to be blown away. I'm afraid I use jokers though, so do you have a 53 card lift? Of course sometimes I intruduce 2 stranger cards, so I might need a 55 card lift. Unless, of course, I'm doing my 2 deck routine. (Not that I have one. But I can't let you get the last word in).

I'll go sit in a corner and practice my pass.

Works good for kids shows...makes the cards less the item in play as they follow there dog...kids don't usually like cards.

My copy of Approaching Magic by David Regal just thumped through my door yesterday. I'm loving the puppy dog routine I have to say (although I tend to be very critical when people draw anatomically incorrect animals or people and fear I may be unable to hide by disgust when performing this...)

Seriously, it is a great routine (and the rest of the book's not to bad either!)
