contrasting pen

Is there such a thing as a pen which produces quick drying, non-raised, contrasting writing on the back of a blue or black bicycle card?

Dont know how effective it would be ...... but how about a tipex pen .....
then when they are waggling the card around to dry (although doesnt take long) gives you a fraction of distraction if needed?? Ah might be raised though?
THat said they do very nice roller ball pens in white, but again take a second or two to dry ....

From an artist's perspective, I've tried to find a white pen/pencil/whatever which effectively goes over black India ink for some time with no success. It's an absolute sod.

I really hate blue cards but I tend to use them for destructive purposes. This includes writing on them, but I've found the contrast a bit rubbish with a black pen.

I can't imagine any ink based product would be able to overwrite the blue.

Do you have a local art shop nearby? You could just take some spare cards down to test. They usually have testers pen to use on scraps to check the colors are right for you. Any reasonable stationary or art shop should have some sort of suitable pen. Copic pens would probably do it. There are poster paint varieties that could work in the copic range. Although sharpies are easily available now and should have some color that'll work.

What about those big silver markers that people use to autograph album covers and stuff? They write over anything.

Silver, yes. Like it! Wonder if they'll dry quick(ish). I've never owned one.

Edit:

It appears that Sharpie do one :)

Sharpie makes (at least in canada) a silver felt marker...it handles much like a regular sharpie (and less like the silver paint pens which you are refering to)...I use it on cards and photos and it dries quite fast.

Yup I second the silver pen.
I've never owned one, but the chaps at Magicbox seem to use them and I've always meant to ask where they bought them.

I guess the only potential problem with silver pen is how well it goes over a face. Can't have it all :)

Depending on what you need....it should look alright if you take a fairly busy spot card (one with lots of ink) to use as your background so the white isn't all that is available...stay away from aces (except ace of spades) and low numbers and you should have no problem at all.
