With the lights out its less dangerous
Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido
Yea

------------

Now that's b*llocks!

The vanilla ice has reminded me of another significant rap song

I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you don't stop
the rock it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat

now what you hear is not a test--i'm rappin to the beat
and me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet
see i am wonder mike and i like to say hello
to the black, to the white, the red, and the brown, the purple and yellow
but first i gotta bang bang the boogie to the boogie
say up jump the boogie to the bang bang boogie
let's rock, you don't stop
rock the riddle that will make your body rock
well so far you've heard my voice but i brought two friends along
and next on the mike is my man hank
come on, hank, sing that song

I think you'll find that is the Sugarhill Gang with "Rappers Delight" which is a song which almost single-handedly brought rap/hiphop to the mainstream (good or bad is your own decision). But yes it was featured in "The Wedding Singer"

I agree you can't get a whole lot worse than rambling...

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

That's the chorus in its entirety. And it's repeated as nauseum. I kid you not.

I've always assumed, much as I detest that song, that those lyrics are meant to be satirical.

Bad lyric that springs to mind is from Duran Duran, I forget the song:

"Don't say you're easy on me, you're about as easy as a nuclear war"

Clumsy and artless!

heaven is a halfpipe

If I die before I wake
at least in heaven I can skate
'cause right now on earth I can't do jack
without the man up on my back

Yeah! You get us young people! Its so hard being a white American boy having to deal with 'the man'

I hope to GOD there's more to the afterlife than skating and taking bong hits with Jesus.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

All of 'mmm mmmmm mmmm mmmm' by the crash test dummies
All of 'If you tolerate this' by the manic street preachers

Freaky. I was actually thinking of this song (Please Please Tell Me Now???) as I walked the dog this morning with the intention of posting it up here.

Also War Song (?) by Culture Club:

War, war is stupid
and people are stupid

Yea. Right on George.

Any whiney "oh how hard my life is" song sung by middle class white boys from leafy suburbia. Send em to live in Baghdad for a couple of months. See what kind of songs they're singing when they get back.

Self Proclaimed genius Johnny Burrell from Razorlight came up with this inciteful piece of poetry:

What a drag it is
The shape I'm in
Well I go out somewhere
Then I come home again

So he went out and came home?......Genius!

Since Queenie brought up Nirvana what about:

even if you have
even if you need
i dont even care
we dont have to breed
we can plant a house
we can build a tree

or another Nirvana song:

I'm livin off off grass
and the drippings from the ceiling
and its ok to eat fish
because they dont have any feelings

Nirvana is a treasure haul of bad lyrics. Cobain must have been a tremendous marksman to have shot himself in the brain.
