Like jpshipp, I saw Pete in Leicester on Sunday and had a fantastic evening. The place he was performing in was a small, intimate comedy club venue that held probably 50 or 60 people and I've seen some acts there who haven't really handled playing to such small numbers very well. Pete seemed to embrace it and put on a brilliant performance where there was more honest, hearty laughter in the room than I've heard in a long while (and from a Leicester audience too)! My heart broke when he was doing the linking finger rings borrowed from three members of the audience. All the guy on stage had to do was tip them from the wine glass into his hand and see that they were now all linked together. As he emptied them into his hand Pete said "and now they're all linked together". All good so far but then the guy drops them onto the floor, the three rings separate and bounce off in all directions. Pete just looked at him and said "thanks, and now they're not!". He pulled everything back together brilliantly and had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand.
If you get the chance to see the show then treat yourself to an early Christmas prezzie and book tickets.
