Sams episode was great! I loved the buckets and bangers trick... Is that his own?

Hi all, an out and out plug. I'm on BBC2 NI tonight (channel 992) at 10pm. Called Magic Party. I know i go about it all the time but for those who haven't seen it, you might just like it.

Cheers

Sky box/VCR set and ready - just in case I'm not there when it's broadcast!

Superb selection of routines and so well tailored to the event and the girl's choices. Several zillion brownie points for sheer cheek with, 'Elvis Presley - not John Travolta?'!!! Well done Richard, more please!

Mate, just watched the show - great performance! I've yet to try learning any real mentalism, but your performance has really got me thinking that I ought to start on mentalism seriously.

Good work.

Cheers for the nice words guys

The main reason I almost choked to death on that line is that I have Oz Pearlman's notes from his UK tour a while back and, as a result, have a stock of John Travoltas all ready and waiting  !

I had both ready before the filming but decided to go with elvis as my dad loves him (and he did beat me up to get me into magic after all ha ha.) So it was at the front of my cerebrum.

Sorry if i've let it slip.....but then again there are some great ones online to replace it with. I'll even cut them out for you!

I confess I never thought of using Elvis but he's as iconic as Travolta and the mental images of both would be when they were young, slim and handsome. Just like wot I am..... 8) (Mandrake goes off Googling Elvis/Images.....)

Mrs.M is into making greetings cards etc and one of her items of equipment is a Robocutter which is very much like an inkjet printer but has a cutting blade instead of ink. It works through a computer the same way as a printer and can cut out shapes, images and all sort of things. Import a B&W image of someone like Elvis, hit the 'cut' button and all the work is done. It's a bit too good in terms of quality of cut but it can be roughed up a bit afterwards.

I've actually started taking a miscut "wrong" guess that i give up on half way through and then cut out the right one.....it's a small sublety but really works. the heat comes off the cards and it just looks great!!

Glad you enjoyed the show, may have some news this week of further projects.

It would appear that they are not putting repeats onto iplayer at the moment.

Last week's and this week's programmes were good, I wasn't too sure about the guy last week but he won me over very quickly! Laura in this week's show proved to be again the right kind of performer for that event and even though she did a lot of classic magic (thank you so much for that Laura!) it was again tailored to the occasion very well.

All this just shows how good magic can be done in different ways and, IMHO, it also shows that we ought to be having a few more programmes involving live magic from local magicians.

Well done BBC2 NI for doing this!
