I'm sorry if I've posted this before guys... it feels vaguely familiar but I think that's only because I think about it a lot.
Anyhoo, following on from my new year's resolution, I'd like to keep improving my repertoire with regard to single deck, non-gaffed tricks. They don't have to have a sub-plot, an optional phase etc, they just have to be powerful and require pretty much just one deck of cards* - you can destroy as many cards as you want. Doesn't even have to be wildly original - maybe it's a handling of card under glass that is just a real winner in your eyes.
Currently, my three favourite in no particular order are:
1) Card thru hand (a sort of "card across", from the recent Harry Robson DVD)
2) Acrobatic cards (a Greg Wilson trick where a card is flicked through the deck and knocks out the selection... sorry for the poor reference)
3) Torn and Restored card (from Harry Robson's "Magic Under Fire")
Does anyone else have any favourites or suggestions - the sort of thing where someone can throw you a deck, ask for some magic and you can knock them flat?
*I will open this up (just so I don't miss any real scorchers) to tricks that require minute amounts of prep (like having a dupe or double in the pack) or tiny "extra bits", like an elastic band and blob of wax for card on ceiling. I'm after stuff that won't take up extra pocket space, and - important - won't stop me from doing other tricks that require a regular, shuffled deck.
