You definately won't be allowed to use a stooge and I've a feeling that unless there are special reasons the audition will be a closed affair but it is definately still worth asking the question.
The reason that I say what I say about stooges is that the audition is a test of your magic (sleight of hand) skills, presentation and routining (how the tricks flow during the 8 to 12 minutes).
You also need to take two tricks along to the audition so that the interviewers can get a basic idea of your skill level. Self workers are mentionned in the audition notes as being inappropriate and there is a guide that details the skill levels associated with the sleights that they expect to see performed smoothly.
These notes can be found on the Magic Circle web site and downloaded which I recommend you seek out.
