Hardcore dancers ruin a good pit all they do is start flailing around like they're have a seizure and throwing out random karate kicks, which what should make a good time of pushing and shoving and the ocasional running in a circle, dangerous because instead of enjoying myself, I have to worry if some idiot is going to acidentally kick me in the face, which has happened before. So yea, I hate hardcore dancers.

But I very much enjoy doing what are known as Walls of Death. Its where the crowd splits into two sides and then runs really fast at each other and collides in the middle and chaos ensues. At mayhemfest last year, there was a small group of people, including myself, who stayed in the middle and let the crowd collapse on them. That was quite the expierence. Hurt a little but it was amazing

I find they sometimes make for a good pit, for the minute or two they're there before they're at the side of the pit on their backs clutching their noses.
Getting lauched in The Blood Brothers pits was an interesting experience; you get a couple of people to give you a leg up, and a push, from a run up, then hope you land on someone soft.
Ah, back in the day!

Edit: CHICKEN PIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, a lot of the bands I'm into now either don't exist anymore, or aren't big enough to embark on tours to the UK with any regularity. As such most of the gigs I go to nowadays are mostly local ones!

Of the bigger bands however...

A Wilhelm Scream [x2]
Alexisonfire
Bullet For My Valentine
Disco Ensemble
Disturbed
Dub Trio
Finch
Hell Is For Heroes [x7]
Ladytron
Maylene & The Sons of Disaster
Nine Inch Nails (I think I was the only person not wearing black!)
Peeping Tom
Ralph McTell
Still Remains
We Are The Ocean

Has to be an audience who don't act in accordance with the atmosphere of the gig, so to speak. I'm pretty sure that makes naff all sense, but you know when you go and see a band whose music is a little slower, not quite so aggressive but all the audience want to do is is beat anyone and everyone into the ground? Conversely, when the music is a little heavier but the audience just stand there! Both kill the atmosphere...

Not a big fan of "HxC Dancing" either... too far!

Ah, I would actually love to experience a Blood Brothers pit... they're still my number one choice for driving music at 3am

"Gun + Gun = Bang Bang Bang"

seen them a few times, such good pits.
If anyone wants an interesting pit story ask me about Marilyn Manson in person some time after a few beers, I will not be posting it on the net!

it was more to do with the other people watching him/her than him/herself. but his/her gigs can get a little strange, just don't stand too near the front, for the love of love!

Oh go on then

It was at Wembley Arena on a Saturday evening. Fortunately didn't see any of the show so it wasn't as bad a concert as you'd think.

Cliff Richards in Wembley Stadium was the first concert that I got stabbed at - fortunatly only minor though
