What are you going to give up for Lent?

Postby Lady of Mystery » Feb 27th, '09, 13:29

I've decided to stop sneaking over to the shop across the road from my office and buying sweeties and chocolate. That's a 3 days so far and I've been good...

The other point of view about Lent isn't so much to do with giving up but actively taking up something - charitable works and so on. Giving up or taking up - I've failed on both counts :oops:

I've commited to praising Satan publically every day, in a chapel if possible!

Hi Lady of Mystery;

For the next 40 days, I've given up smoking, alcohol, meat & dairy products, sugar etc... An my girlfriend's away for another three months, so ... that as well :lol: :lol:

In fact, it's quicker to say that I'm eating fruits, vegetables, fish, and drink water and green tea.

So far so good, I haven't killed ayone yet, but 37 days is still a long way to go :lol: :lol: I did it already a couple of years ago and discovered a really neat addiction fighting idea: when craving for a smoke, think about a cheeseburger. When craving for a burger, think about a smoke. Easy really!! :lol:

Cheers

Last year, I started putting my change in collecting tins in shops and pubs. You'd be surprised just how nice shop assistants and barmaids are to you when you do that.

I've given up playing on the xBox.

Serves two purposes really... yes, a Lenten "fast" as it were, but also I might actually get some revision done!

Sunday roasts.

This is a very funny joke for reasons I am too unarsed to go into.
