Gary: Young, Psychic and Possessed

Tuesday 24 March
9:00pm - 10:00pm
BBC3
Twenty-year-old Gary Mannion calls himself Britain's youngest psychic surgeon, channelling a spirit from the dead to operate on the sick. He travels the world to bring his alleged ability to effect miracle cures to a devoted following. Filmmaker Emeka Onono follows Gary as he tries to prove he really does have the power to heal. Emeka hears stories of miracle cures, watches Gary operate and even participates in seances, before turning to science to try to separate fact from fantasy.

definatly on my watch list tonight.

One cant but wonder who taught him to do this, and wether they should be investigated, since we all know that the whole thing is utter guff.

just had a look at his web site, and guess what.........

I recon He's one of us!

he has a ( badly) adapted version of the classic Duninger quote on his site.

For those who believe and know the work of spirit is true no explanation is needed. For those who do not believe no satisfactory explanation can be given to satisfy your dis-beliefs. For ignorance is Bliss!

and th elast link on the right, takes you to a brick layers course.

very spiritual eh?

and i love his disclaimer..

Unfortunately everyone is different therefore it is almost impossible to give an account on how a particular person will benefit from Psychic Surgery.

I thought Psychic Surgery had been exposed as a sham years ago? Oh well, worth a looksee no doubt... thanks!
takes you to a brick layers course.
So he has solid foundations then...

It's a shame our Icelandic friends can't see this program, Baldurs exposed it many moons ago and recently did a TV programme to revisit the topic and demo the trickery involved.

He was interviewed under caution by Trading Standards

There are some lovely coincidences here. The Skills Trade link lists a "John" Thompson, and the Bad Psychics page has an advert for the book The Naked Quack!

Gary Mannion wrote:All testimonials featured are of the opinion of the person that wrote them: Gary Mannion takes no responsibility for anything stated and would like to make it clear for legal reasons that he does not claim to have healed or cured anyone. Even if no medical explanation can be given for a persons recovery.

Legal requirement of course but a great 'out' for failure as well!

Particularly interesting when you notice that they are actually paragraphs written by Gary himself. "All testimonials about me are my own opinion"

The more I think about it, the more I think this is probably going to be a fairly definitive debunk purely because this idiot won't give over robbing people of the time and energy they would otherwise have to put things in order, spend time with the people the love, and say goodbye properly; the time that oncology would otherwise give them.
