I'm thinking that it's got something to do with the dateline but can't quite work it out at the moment as if they were on different sides of the dateline, that'd only give us one day.

No, that would mean that Terry celebrated his birthday two days earlier.

And the poor mother!

You're right, that is only one day, but I like your thinking.

Why?

I'm thinking that Terry was born on march 1st, and then on a non-leap year they passed over the dateline and Teri was born on february 28th. Due to the fact that you said that he only "sometimes" has his birthday 2 days after, that "sometimes" would only be every 4 years, on a leap year, whereby there is a february 29th

Your on a small Island there are no trees, only dry grass and the water is teeming with man eating sharks.

a fire starts on the north side of the island the wind is blowing south, the fire grows, moving towards the south side of the island just under half the island is now on fire.

How do you avoid being burned alive?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

No the entire island is covered in the grass, the grass does eventually burn away, but there is still a good ten foot wall between you and the burnt out grass. And being on the island for a week already you've eaten your right leg (so you can't jump over).

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.
