David Forrest’s Radio Rental Review

This DVD, like all Full 52 Production’s is incredibly well designed and so slick. The cover, editing, filming quality and just about everything else is well thought out and gives it a lush feel.

The effects on this DVD are absolutely awesome. The Man who Paints the future has to be one of my favourite on the DVD and just incorporates everything you need in an awesome stage or close up effect.

So here is a run through of my thoughts on each individual effect:

Force-Ite: is an incredibly bold effect and Dave does mention that on the DVD. However, I don’t believe it is bold enough to do. It’s perfectly workable and one I will defiantly be putting into motion. It’s an incredibly clever effect and there are many possibilities. This one would be great for close up or stage.

Leavings: Is a beautiful effect to follow up from the previous. This however, I would recommend more for stage than anything else. This is duel reality at its very best. Every aspect of this effect is so incredibly thought out. Never before have I felt so confident in a duel reality effect like this.

Two Birds with One Stone: This is another of my favourites on the DVD. Physiological methodology at it’s very best. A mix of linguistic trickery and clever magic principles you can accurately predict a thought of card before it’s thought of. This is very cool and one I’ll be practising to get it perfect. This being said, it seems very complicated at first but with one or two more viewings, it’s easily grasped.

The ‘Never Fail’ Stop trick: this is a very cool alternative ending to the stop force. Just in case it all goes wrong, Dave has come up with an awesome variation which will still seem like it worked perfectly.

Pseudo memory: Another absolute stunner. Such an awesome effect that absolutely fries people. A very simple handling but so genius in execution. One that I think people will want to do straight away. Not much to be said about this other than its absolutely awesome!

Outs of Mind: This is a cool effect that utilises many different “out” methods to directly read the spectators mind. Again, everything is so thought out that it will always seem direct and hard hitting.

Dave’s Think a card: another very well thought out simple effect to be used within any routine that involves mentalism. It would fit very well into a stage routine or a longer routine at tables.

Queen screen: This is another wicked idea, however, unfortunately, after looking at every possible avenue, I am unable to perform this. I’m sure in most cases this isn’t the same and most people will be able to happily perform this. But the effect is very clever, hard hitting and direct.

The Man who paints the Future: by far my most favourite effect on the DVD. Although this one will take more time to assemble the artefacts needed, I believe, whole heartedly that it’s worth every effort. Dave gives an idea on how to create the painting. But of course there are many avenues to go down including the Photoshop route. Very very clever effect utilising lots of different moves and methods to create such an impossible and memorable piece of magic. This one effect is worth double the price of the DVD.

Over all, this DVD is crammed with solid effects. Everyone will 100% find material in this DVD that they WILL use. It’s criminal not to. Everything is beautifully constructed and ingeniously thought out. An awesome DVD and one that I cant recommend enough.

best Wishes,

Jamie Daws
