Complaints about Magic Forums

Postby Allen Tipton » May 17th, '09, 13:27

Mjoel: Never be discouraged. You can always learn from even negative answers and approaches.
Learn to stand back, look at the statements, evaluate them; then either retain their ideas & opinions or simply wash them from your brain.
Be cool.

You will find that Talk Magic Forum is pretty well balanced with moderators, also pretty well 'on the ball' when dealing with predjudiced, vicious or just plain stupid statements,

Magic Bunny however does seem to have a number of hot heads.
The Magic Woods is very quiet & low profile and I cannot recall any nasty types there.
The Magic Cafe has some incredible theories, experiences & advice BUT it is so vast, you can spend hours trying to find the right answer.

Do remember Most magicians are in the game because they LOVE the Art. However with any Art there will always be the diehards, the dissenters and the plain stupid. They don't always know it.

And magicians ALL have their own, often highly personal, outspoken, & often very rigid opinions and are always ready to voice them.

So again, Learn to step back and evalute. The enjoy the good things of Magic.

There is a Lot Of Good out there. :D
Remember: Be Cool

   and true to his good nature, Allen has indirectly explained the existence of such things as the old grumpy American Bear that's not wise to poke... just remember, my growling and snarling is always worse than my actual bite.
