Just be careful with the old campfire. Can play havoc with the underlay!

Hehe, sorry Farlsborough. I forgot that anything south of Sheffield is where the softies live :D

Kettlewell is gorgeous. I've only ever been once when I went potholing somewhere nearby. Was a long, long time ago in my dim and distant past.

They're the best kind. In fact, the best picnics take place indoors and include a trip to the fish & chip shop.

I can pick them up from the drive through fish and chip shop and avoid having to walk outside too!
Excellent idea!

well I've just spent an lovely lunch hour sat out in glorious sunshine in a pub garden with a vodka and coke or two.

I love this weather, you northerners can keep your rain, I'd much rather some softy sunshine anyday! :D

When I was in my 20's I was a real sun lover. I did the whole Ibiza thing many times (believe it or not) and longed to work on the Med. I did several "tours" of the Med, sleeping on beaches and having "experiences" - from the south of France to the Greek islands.

Now as I grow older I find myself being drawn further and further north and relishing the cold. Perhaps I'm being drawn to some mythical Arctic graveyard for dark mentalists? :D

It's amazing how much I've changed over the years.

i wish it would hurry up and rain down here...

oh and if andy murray could get struck by lightning right now too - that would be good...

muggy, dry heat plus being born with asthma and allergies do not mix well...

i actually had to take today off cos last night i was couldnt sleep due to my near constant wheezy behaviour and a mild allergy to work...

i'd like it to rain hard for the next two months personally...

Travelled down Thursday from hot and sticky Manchester to even hotter and stickier London. Was put up for the night by one of my lovely editors, whom I had never met in person before, and I suppose now she thinks all I do is sweat.

But it was nice despite the heat. I had my treat of seeing DB's Enigma (again), and a big birthday hug from him.
