Trading Places! Wonderful! I keep trying to get my wife to watch it, but she can't see past the Eddie Murphy 1980's thing. It's actually a very wonderful and funny parable on life and greed. Plus it has Jamie Lee's boobs and a man in a gorilla suit being romantically "approached" by a real gorilla. What more do you need?

In Bruge is also an underated film...vaguely similar too...

It gets blasted as the worst Coen Brothers film, but i have a soft spot for The Hudsucker Proxy. Intolerable Cruelty must surely rank among their worst, along with The Man Who Wasn't There.

Haven't seen Man Bites Dog for a while but its a beauty. That and La Haine if we're talking hip black and white french movies.

I've never been as fanatical about the Cohen Brothers as many other people seem to be, but the Hudsucker Proxy is my favourite of their movies.

I have a definite soft spot for it - especially as it makes so many knowing references to How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, which is a fabulous movie.

So let's add How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. I'm a sucker for daft musicals, and this one should be much better-known.

Screamers had a good core premise and a good cast. It was tense as hell in parts, and the very last shot was pure genius.

The Changeling - fabulous, but little-known haunted house movie.

Zorro The Gay Blade - not only does it have a mad Mel Brooks-style scipt, a genuine respect for the original cliffhangers, and lovely production values, it's also a great example of wgat a brilliant actor George hamilton can be.

oh yeah! THe Changeling...excellent film..and murder on the rue morgue...

You know, there is one film I have on DVD that I only watch about once every 5 years. It's French. Virtually nothing happens. It's called The Green Ray and it's a masterpiece.

last night i watched 'stay alive', a straight to dvd horror cheapie. Plot kinda dodgy and contrived, but very very good effects and an unusually nice take on the 'horror video game kills the people who play it' kinda plot

Loved The Changeling when I was a kid. Watched it again recently and it was... not so good. Interestingly it came out at the same time as The Shining. Kubrick withdrew the Shining from circulation in order to remove a coda in which the tennis ball that Nicholson threw against the walls of the Overlook turns up at the hospital in which Danny is being treated. Anyone who's seen the Changeling might hazard a guess as to why.

Mrs Doubtfire. Some pretty funny stuff...

Casino Royale - the original one with David Niven, Peter Sellers and Woody Allen. Daft but very funny, with a great theme tune.

Victor/Victoria - especially Robert Preston's drag act at the end.
