Its an amazing trick which may not be exposed, because if you do, you break the magicians-code which means you cannot tell anyone how a trick works

There is a very good, simplified routine for this effect on Michael Ammar's "Easy To master Card Miracles". I think it is Volume 1, but you had better check it out first.

Tell me Danny, are you new to Magic and if you don't mind me asking, where did you hear about this site (it's always nice to know how people hear about this quiet little board!)

Regards... Tony

daryl's ambitious card routine video -
this video is excellent, it assumes a fiar bit of knowledge about various moves and I learnt a few new things from this video.
At times Daryl does drag on a bit, and some moves you just wouldn't do. But armed with this video and a packet of cards you can absolutely amaze people.

I think it is like a routine called reformation, try an internet search for that and you'll come up with loads of online dealers stocking it.

Daryls ambitious card video is excellent and shows how a gaff deck can be made. Although it's very time consuming (may even be on sale now), the effect extreamly strong.

I strongly advise anyone interested in how to perform this effect to get Daryl's video/DVD. It is excellent, and teaches many, many methods for this effect. HOWEVER, it is not the pantheon of all knowledge.,And while I think of such discention, do not be led by his gimmick at the end - it is clever, but hardly kosher.

What are you going to contribute to this ever evolving effect? Many, many before you have contibuted their move(s)!

Pedey...

That's completely profound and philosophical posting!

To add:
The Daryl video has been described (by yours truly, no less) as 'a complete encyclopedia of ambitious card routines'... which, in my mind, it is.

It's a good foundation for the Ambitious Card effect, and proves that there's more than one way to skin a cat (no comments, please Mr. Mog!!!).

Use it as a reference guide - but be aware that it's not necessarily the definitive guide. As your magic skills progress, you will find many ways to perform the 'card to top of deck' routine. They will go far beyond the ones described by Daryl.

This DVD offers a great insight into what's possible - and right down to the aforementioned 'killer ending' there's quality teaching being done.

But, as always, don't let this be your final lesson: read, learn, watch and explore. Magic is a voyage of discovery and creativity - there's quite often no right or wrong way to perform an effect.

I got Daryl's amitious card video. It is quite good but it's all his work. I like to make some of my tricks more personal that is why I made up my own ambitious card routine by adding bits thought up by myself and by using ideas that are allready used. If you are anything like me you will have fun making up your own ambitious card routine. :D

Terminology confusion:
Routine is a string of effects/moves/sleights.

It should be pointed out that the fundamental moves and handlings taught here are fundamental basics to allow you to adapt to your own style and routine.

This is a VERY comprehensive guide to umpteen different sleights, but the routine is up to you.

As far as the next-step from here... well, you'll just have to be creative.
But this is a product definately aimed at people with more than a little knowledge of sleights.
