You mean you can't do the single coin routine, Damian? I thought you were a good magician?

rather than bleat on and on and on in every thread - why not just pm the moderator(s) with your ego-strokingly kind offer of payment of server hosting...and then leave these threads in peace, and let everyone discuss the subject in hand...

we know you need attention derek jennings, thats why you brag and try and belittle others..you crave that power...

you probably have quite a nice younger attractive girlfriend and an expensive car too...why not be happy within yourself, and instead of skipping around here being an @rsehole - give it a rest, go wipe it for a change and let the rest of the users carry on...

all the best old chum...happy hair replacement surgery too...xx

I don't see why "waiting for it to come up naturally" negates the idea that a pre-bent coin has been switched in. I think audiences are canny enough to know that coins don't bend themselves any more than playing cards can separate themselves into their respective colours, so if you're trying to convince people that this is something you actually can do the least you can do is eliminate the obvious conclusions. And on a scale of obviousness, I'd probably put "switching the straight coin for a warped one" relatively near the high end.

Also, let's say you bend the coin, then somebody else wants to see it with a coin of their own. Or they ask you to put it straight again. What then? These are all reasonable questions to put to somebody who claims that they can bend a coin at will without using force, and logically there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do it. Yes, it would be cheaper to bend a bunch of coins and take them with me everywhere I go in the hope that the opportunity will come up, or I can just keep the gimmick with me (which is nowhere near as cumbersome as you make out) and be ready. Much the same way I could either carry a thousand index cards with every possible three digit number, or I could buy a Super Sharpie.

are you fan of irony?

and though you've not noticed, derek - i have continously called you by other first names beginning with D, as it obviously niggles away at you just a little...

The difference between yourself and the mighty Mark Lewis though, is that mark is amusing and shares centuries worth of experience...

all you do is spray your pith and vinegar all over the screen...

i understand that you feel compelled to do it though...but its not about you doing any of the things you've listed, its about you understanding that your attitude needs to change...

swish!

I actually feel kind of bad for him. Being a forum troll when you're a kid is shameful, but when you're a middle-aged man... there's problems there than no amount of perfectly-timed coin bends can fix.

And no, I wouldn't unbend a coin or do the same trick over and over again (any more than I would take audience management tips from somebody who starts arguments about magic on the internet), but you need something that you can do on the fly and that has scope for adaptation. Coinvexed is one of those things. As is the Super Sharpie - the boon solution works for some people, but the Sharpie works for me. Perhaps you could recommend some other inadequate replacements for equipment I'm perfectly happily using.

and david jennings states that he doesnt own a car, and yet...

http://sussexmagician.com/2009/12/18/th ... /#comments

and it must be hard to be a full time, big time pro with no car to get about in...obviously he'll now state he has a driver, or he gets the paying punter to provide transportation...

never mind, you're right though...a troll at his age, with all his talent and experience, yet he has to someone get all this internalised anger out...and this is his safest place to do so...because he can't do it anywhere else - quite possibly because no one will listen...poor old david....

you've not got under my skin - it just goes to show that you're a little fibber! and you seriously have nothing better to do than to troll about on a forum that you have admitted yourself is pretty much beneath you...so with that to consider, the question is...why would a busy working pro do such a thing?

banachek doesnt do it, kenton knepper doesnt do it, osterlind...in fact NO working pro does what you are doing...i think we all know the answer to that really don't we....
