I use a routine with a Svengali deck and a stopwatch that is a very simple and direct mentalism effect. I'm happy to share it if you PM me. I honestly can't remember where it came from so forgive me if I have unknowingly "borrowed it". If I haven't and it's actually my own creation, I have impressed myself!

If we can hit that bullseye then the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards... Checkmate!

I do a svengeli trick for my Cubs and Scouts. Follow instructions, get them to select the card, then lose it randomly in the pack. Open a wallet which bursts into flames, which when put out reveal the selected card. If I want to do a bit more I put the card face up on the pack, and then show them the pack again, which of course has now amazingly transformed to the chosen card. Card is removed and to their shock and awe it is back to normal.

Amazingly simple, effective and something I came up with practically on the spot! The idea of using the principle in mentalism routines is something I'll have to look into.
