Yet, let a perceived "Celebrity" of the industry expose such things and it gets ignored or looked at way differently than when some schmo does the same thing on-line![]()
I brought this out NOT to create some kind of "tension" but rather, to get folks to pause a bit and think about how we address such antics and ask where the line really is in the sand that we're not supposed to cross?
It's a well known stage technique known by anybody who knows anything about optics. It uses principles that are used in TV studios and conference rooms all over the world. It's not a magic trick, it's a technique used in stage productions, haunted houses, and a few magic shows
Shouldn't magic be about entertainment? I don't know anything about stage magic and I don't know the secrets, so I think just like a layperson. If I see somebody "cut in half" I know the woman isn't really cut in half and is curled up safely in one of the boxes. If it's performed well, then I don't care. I rather liked Gorillaz's live performance at the MTV Music Awards when they appeared on stage, even though it's no secret that it uses Pepper's Ghost. I didn't care because it looked good and I like the music
If you have problems with people knowing your magic secrets, then you have bigger problems
