I have seen this and I don't know when I saw it, but I remember at the time that I believed it was the real thing- I haven't seen it in a while though, now I'm a little more aware of the techniques, but I suppose I was confirmed in my belief when Banachek talks about this in his psychophisiological thought reading. Weather or not is was the real thing, I have replicated this effect using the real thing as Banachek suggested and it does have a pretty high success rate. I think hellstromism largley relies on not over analysing things too much, because once you begin to do that you begin to loose accuracy, I discovered when I first began learning Hellstromism- so perhaps people who don't know anything about it to analyse might be quite good then. As Dale said, rejoice for it works!!
I did like the effect though, and there was some pretty sneaky stuff going on throughout the Hellstromism, but I didn't really enjoy the mind control series. He seemed quite out of touch and superior, which he has since dropped but the material, which I did like from mind controll, is the foundation of his success today.
And, just to let you know, PMM is a wonderful and enjoyable read. Not to mention very sneaky.
I wouldn't reccomend following up on any of this reccomended reading just yet, focus on grounding yourself in magic, then move on to the 13 steps if you still care about mentalism. All the other stuff comes later.
