It's a real word, coined in 1929 by Monsignor Ronald Knox, who wrote Studies in the Literature of Sherlock Holmes, the first book to treat the Sherlock Holmes stories in a mock-scholarly style.
"Holmesian" can relate to Sherlock Holmes himself, or to the pastime of pretending the stories are real and treating them in this mock-scholarly way. I was myself a fairly hardcore Holmesian for several decades, and only gave it up about ten years ago.
