My brain had completely irradicated any memory of Paulus the Woodgnome until I saw that clip!

I felt exactly the same.. I even found myself singing to the theme tune within seconds.

Smoking puppets on kids telly... how times have changed

Probably As a direct result of this kind of influence at a tender age, your writing, imagining, and making things. :)

I think kids are still doing quite well with the likes of Doodle Doo, Mr Maker and Nina and the Neurons.

Nina especially is a fantastic kids program - it's fun, it doesn't talk down to kids, but it explains how they can go about finding out about things for themselves. It's never about the answer to today's question - it's about the process of finding that answer. Nina's cute too. Great stuff.

I have to admit that at 47,Im an avid doodle doo viewer.
Not only is the content and the presenter watchable, entertaining, and of a high class, the writing team, ( including Trevor and Simon) often slip in some classy gags along the way. :)

Poor Trevor & Simon - it's such a shame they didn't make the leap to "grown up" TV more successfully.
