Silly children

Postby themagicwand » Jul 26th, '10, 15:53

Had to laugh. A teenager in front of me at the queue at a supermarket checkout asked the sales assistant for "a deck of 10 Marlboro Light".

In fact it was more like: "Yo big man, check me a deck of 10 Marlboro Light."

Remember when you were an ickle teenager and talking like a buffoon seemed so important? Sigh. I remember what it was like...

I guess if we can ask for a pack of cards, they have the right to a deck of cigarettes.

Now, the young-uns aren't content with talking gibberish, they write it too.

As demonstrated by the arrival of Text Speak. Some of my friend's facebook status updates look like they're written in a foreign language.

Str8 up m8. Dat iz coz dey iz fick.

I saw some other guy in a supermarket (I don't stalk supermarkets - honest) with a pair of trainer-style shoes that had separate holes (for want of a better word) for each toe. His feet looked like giant chimpanzee feet!

Ooh, I love a good gossip me!

Those shoes are just WRONG! You see what I mean my "chimpanzee feet"? The guys feet looked huge and sort of made a "shlopp" sound as the flopped down onto the floor! How I didn't laugh is beyond me.

As a rule of thumb, when dressing to meet the outside world, a gentleman should always ask himself, "Would Steed from the Avengers wear this?" If not, he should put the offending article back in his wardrobe to await collection by Oxfam.

I saw somebody wearing those. Thought it was the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time.
