thanks for all your replies so far
I've looked a bit closer into card manipulation as this video seems to be the closest to the kind of idea I want: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FAuJbpL1uo ... it even has orchestral psychedelic trance music in.
obviously I'd never reach his skill level even if I practiced hardcore for the next few years, but it's something to aspire to.
Anyway I've come up with some issues with manipulation:
- Multicoloured cards would be pretty expensive for me to be throwing around everywhere... these are the cheapest I can find http://www.magicbox.uk.com/multi-colour ... brick.html but then I have white border issues which show up in the darkness probably
- Would I do manipulation at the beginning or the end of a table routine? I'm thinking that the end would be better (I'd prefer not to do magic in a rave environment, I'd start out with a more private performance level where I can control the lighting, music and angles etc)
