Hello !!

I tried searching for this specific card fan, which shows all the cards in the deck, but couldn't find any reference to it.

Any references to where it could be learnt ?

it might be in one of the Ganson routined Manipulation books. Its a nack though. Dont expect to be able to do it straight away.

Looks to me like a pressure fan.

Practically any fan can do this, show all the indices I mean. As Dale said its a knack which has to be aquired. It can be done with a standard fan, others will prefer a pressure type fan, it really doesnt matter.

If you're wanting to do it EXACTLY like David does its going to be even harder than using a normal or pressure fan. If you look closely at the clip you'll notice David doesnt spread them in the usual way, ie from the thumb end. He actually spreads them from the wrist TOWARDS the thumb which is kind of backwards from what we usually do. It also means that unless you are using cards with 4 indices or left handed cards, you're going to have to hold the cards in the right hand and spread them with the left (as David does in the clip) otherwise you wont see any indices at all.

You know, I saw that they were backwards so to speak and he held them up to the spectator in that odd manner. I just could not put it all together.

Because David is holding them with his right hand he has had to perform a reverse fan in order for the indices to be visible. Just think of a fan as a curved spread. If you spread the cards out on the table (ribbon spread) left to right you wil see the indices at the top of the cards, if you spread them out right to left the indices at the bottom will be visible, same here.
Reverse fans don't really take any longer to perfect than regular fans, but as already mentioned, getting your fan crisp enough to display all the indices is what doesn take time.

I think with Berglas, judging by where his watch is, I am guessing he does sleights and such with the opposite hands, same as me. I think that would make learning it much harder.
