If I had to get one (and I won't) I'd get a potato on my left ankle. purely for the lack of reason and meaning. And I like potatoes....

I have ten so far, but will be adding to that come early March. My favourite one is probably my cartoon spoon with a moustache done on my left shin

 I wish. The price of tattoos has really rocketed over the past ten years due to their increasing popularity. When I got mine (1992 - 95) the prices were about a quarter of todays prices, less sometimes. For example, my wife got my name tattooed on her wrist (james not jim) about 2 - 3 years ago at a cost of £45. The same tattoo in the early 90s would have been about a tenner !

Yeah nowadays the minimum price (at a decent studio) is £30 for a piece, so even if its just a thin straight line across your wrist its 30 quid. You're looking at at least £50 an hour, but a good artist will charge £70-80 an hour.

That's in the north west, no idea about crazy London prices though!

I'm half way through getting mine done, had 2 sessions and have probably another 3-4 to go before it's finished! It takes up the whole of my left arm, with some magical reveals hidden in there for good measure :D

Ive been thinking of getting a Playing card tattoo, going throught the mbitious card routine finihsing with placing a card into their hand which they think is theres and a card (secretly blank) on to my arm with an elastic band then say that their card mayb be bored of them and go to tshow them the card on my arm but act shocked that it is blank then roll up my sleeve saying the ink must have bled through my shirt.

See the website Ugliest Tattoos (usually NSFW) for a salutary lesson about how important it is to pick a good tattooist! There's quite a lot of information in the comments, too.

I don't have any tattoos, though occasionally I consider the possibility of a very small private one with religious significance.

Besides the spider on my right hand that is usually noticed by those who have seen me perform, I have a large spider web on my upper left arm. It has an open area in the center in which I occasionally print predictions with a Sharpie.

On my upper left arm is a skull under which is a poker hand - aces and eights. Beneath the cards is the legend "Dead Man's Hand."

(I used to ride with a motorcycle club and performed regularly in biker bars. Got my last tat in 1995 in Sturgis, SD.)

        Good thoughts,

        Bob
