That is fantastic news!

Thanks for sharing. Are they accepting auditions or is it invite only again?

Viewing figures of >4m leading to commissioning of a series is a good indicator of how it went over with the audience

I love Fool Us but I have to say Paul Daniels Magic Show had the best TV format I've ever seen, it showcased some of the greatest acts from all over the world and the show ran for 15 years.

i suspect that the 6m viewing figures that the magicians got, may also be a factor in this. ITV, Now potentialy have the upper hand, as BBC wont have a magic series on to compare it with.

now all they have to do is get rid of the mentalist bashing and smarmy exposure and the show would be actually be good...

Brilliant news.

It peed on the magicians from such a height.

Congrats to the winners.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the long term speaking to people not involved with magic I have heard positive about both. But The Magicians got a better reception. Fool Us was well liked but people seemed to think it was better for magicians wathching, where the magicians was taylored to the general public.

I am not saying |I agree, but that is the response that I have had. What ever the thoughts of magicians the publice seem to want a magic show on primetime tv. The number of people who have said they love magic and they have been reminded of the Paul Daniels show. My view is that it has got to be good for magic in general and we need to as they say watch this space. I am sure there will be another series of the magicians even if it is changed slightly in format. All tyhe channels will have seen the response that magic on tv has created from the general public

Cannot wait for this to air. Having missed the first one shown and only finding out about it since joining here i managed to see it via my old friend Newsgroups.

Loved it and even thought Rossy was ok on it.

In my opinion it was a lot better than the magicians on BBC, a couple of episodes of that and i lost interest, mainly due to the fact that i prefer close up magic rather than the big effects.

Hope what is to come is as good as the pilot.

:D
