A question about cold reading

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Ah! That means he doesn't have the second one ready yet. I wasn't sure of that. Thanks for the info.

Any oracle gives an air of mysticism to your reading, and helps to disguise the fact that you are indeed cold reading. However if you want to look more scientific in your explanations of a character, you may want to go with body language and face reading. Another thing that will help is to have your sitters draw a picture and then give a reading using a pseudo psychological explanation. Any book on dream interpretations will help in these types of drawing reads. Or you could just use dreams? Fact is whatever you use, know about it as a quick Google will either make or break your creds.

I just received the second part of my psychic DVDs from International Magic today. It was entirely on the Tarot. It isn't officially out yet for sale but you won't have to wait long. I viewed it and was shocked to see how old and decrepit I looked. I expect I am not long for this world and there will be great celebrations in the world of magic.

My own niece was on the DVD. She is in showbusiness too as a singer. And she actually believes in the Tarot and is far more spiritual than her wicked uncle. I made future predictions for her for the months ahead. I wonder if they came true since the months ahead have been and gone.

Tony Black and Mandrake himself were on the DVD. I introduced Mandrake saying that he was a moderator on one of the magic forums I haven't been banned from and he muttered "yet". It came out quite clearly.

There is a ton of knowledge on this DVD. I didn't realise I was such a know-all.

I had an email from International to say that part 2 was almost ready and just waiting for the cover notes to be finished. At long last I'll be able to prove to my family I really was there and not trawling the sinful flesh pots of London.....

It is me that he is awaiting the cover notes from. I shall have to exert myself to do them over the next few days. Procrastination is a dreadful thing. In fact I purchased the recent Roberto Giobbi book not because I am the slightest bit interested in any of his tricks but because there was a brilliant tip on how to avoid procrastination in it.

I sometimes try to hypnotise myself in an attempt to avoid procrastination. It does not good. I just p*ss around with hypnosis all day when I should be getting on with some work.

I'm interested in procrastination but I'll look into it tomorrow.

I was too busy being distracted by something outside when I should have been concentrating on what I was writing.

Looking forward to getting this - and for those of you who missed the sessions in London, there is gold in these DVDs.

Yes. Jerry Sadowitz came up to me afterwards and said it was one of the best lectures he had ever attended. I think he enjoyed me being rude about certain personalities in the magic world. He attended both sessions. I wonder if he wants to be a psychic instead of a magician. Probably not I suppose.

In performance he is already more psycho than magician!
Strange the contrast between talking to him in person and his stage persona.

When I saw him at Mark's lecture he was quiet, polite and, dare I say it, quite normal! He was certainly very interested in the various reading techniques.

I've met him on a couple of occasions, and he's a decent, helpful and friendly guy. But on stage he's something else. But I love the stage persona. It's savage.
