I tend to use whatever deck tickles my fancy that morning, but I must admit I do have more red decks than blue, but thats mainly because I ruined all my blues and just never replaced them.

Funny you should say that hd.
Just out of curiosity I had a couple of packs of Tally's sent out with my last batch of Bicycle's.
I'm using them now, & I quite like them. I may even go so far as to say.
I prefer them over the Bicycle's.
I agree. JMO, but a much better design.

I myself would say though, they feel a little thinner than a Bicycle deck.
I'm probably wrong, but it would be interesting to no.

I use either Red, or sometimes I do use a green deck. Not very conventional I know, but the green Bikes have a nice striking back to them. Not as bright as the reds, but not as dark as the blues.

They are a nice colour to change it up too now and then :)

I've just ordered 8 red and 2 blues. I didn't want the blues to feel COMPLETELY neglected.

Always Red ... not sure why, but when it came to doing Anniversary Waltz I noticed that signed the name on the BACK of a card Red is much better at showing the signature (using a black pen anyway).

As for using Black / negative decks (like Tiger Decks) I use a silver Sharpie, so it doesn't really matter.

Bicycles - Red
Tally Ho (fan and circle) - Blue
Phoenix - Red (ALWAYS)
Aviators - Red
Bee - Red for close up, Blue or Green for table routines (poker based etc)

Really not sure why ... I think it does boil down to basic psychology, but I dont understand why I find red backs nicer to look at :S

I remember years ago when I first started getting Bicycle decks I had a very long few days deciding in the colour of the decks to get. Now I use Red for performances and blue for practice.

I do this for two very important reasons, red has more of a visual impact - its bright and vibrant and contrasts well against green mats (which I use for my close up gambling routine).

But the most important reason - Red is my favourite colour. :o

I use red because if someone catches a flash of card back between the fingers during a clumsy palm, they're likely to mistake it for light shining through the skin. In practise, my palm is probably good enough now (more to the point, the timing and misdirection is probably good enough now) that it isn't an issue, but I have lots of red gimmicks (blank face etc), so it's not easy to change.

Ultimately, I think blue is better because the contrast with the skin is better.

Never thought of that. I use old decks for practise (bit grubby or a bit too buckled). I mark the sides with a thick marker pen so that when I see them lying around my sprawling Camden Town mansion I know not to take them out with me.

I prefer the look of blues, but reds always seem to always come my way.

Blue for bees, Blue for tally ho's, Blue for masters, but although I think that blue looks better, red seems less imposing so I primarily use them

I've come to agree. When I bought Aristocrats recently I bought blue, and if I buy the David Blaine White Lions (if they become affordable) I'll buy blue. More elegant, I think?

No longer too concerned about the palm, as I say. But I still have loads of red back Bikes and gimmicks.

Are Aristocrats any good? (sorry to go of topic  ) I was thinking of getting some but the seem to be so scarcely used...

I adore them.

Shame I dropped half of my deck into the urinal at The Euston Tap.

I wasn't even drunk at that stage. I held them in 'chin grip' due to lack of pockets, and the middle half -- the meat in the sandwich, as it were -- plopped out.

I tend to have my normal and special decks the same colour so if you ever need to swap decks, it will look like you're using the same one you had earlier, where as a new blue deck may arouse some suspicion (may be OTT but I like things to be as clean as possible). I'll use two colours if something requires two decks at once so they don't get mixed up.

I'm the opposite. I like to have different decks for different types of effect, to create a theme. Like, my Sam the Bellhop variation, I like to use a casino deck as it's a gambling routine. Depends though.

I only ever buy bricks of Bikes for £20 and you get 6 of each colour

Red is my favourite colour (LFC fan) but for some strange reason I prefer using Blue Backs

If I had an endless supply of White Lions I would always use them (no gaffs though)

I actually like Bee decks but that is really going off topic
