I just have to repeat this: The word amateur comes from Latin, related to the word amour (love) and means loving what you are doing.

That list makes up the majority of the magic I know, I'm guessing you know a ton of other tricks which aren't card tricks :)

You're better than you were yesterday, but not as good as you will be tomorrow

It's not what level you are now, it's how good you want to be (and can be) tomorrow

When did I get all thoughtful all of a sudden?

I'm afraid that simply isn't true. The ID and Brainwave has been use as the "trick" for many, many presentations throughout the years. Dunninger even paid for the exclusive rights of the Brainwave for a year it was (and is) that powerful.

Maybe it can be performed as a stand alone trick but it is still one of the best utility devices for magi. Certainly the very best 'out' kept in your pocket should something go amiss.

Why do you want to know the answer to this question?

Out of your list I only know Colour Monte, but I may well be a much better card magician...and I hate cards....but can still perform for 30 minutes to a group without repeating myself with one deck.

Can you perform, for example, 5 of those tricks with different presentations to 5 different audiences, (wedding, old people, drunks, loud club and teenage), for example? If not, you just lost a few points on the "How good am I?" scale.

Why is it important?
Tell us what you want to be, and we can help you get there, but no-one can ever tell you what you are.

I'd say you are clearly at Level 13.7c.

Hope that helps.

I don't see how you can award such a high level without seeing the guy!

Yeah I mean, it's more like a 11.2d

Yes I see your point, 11.2d does make some sense, but I think 13.7c is much more logical in this case.

I think using the "c" designation is CLEARLY misunderstanding what Vernon meant.

11.2d, (or perhaps an "e"?) would seem fairer using Kaps ruling - no?

Now that you have written it down it's become plain as day! 11.2e is EXACTLY the standard as shown.

Wow, did a few of us mess that up! How embarrassing. Hope we don't get demoted due to that! :?

It can be oh so very easy to confuse an 11.2d or 11.2e with a 13.7c, its happened to me so many times and the utter embarrassment it has caused me you can only imagine.
