hi i am looking to buy a rabbit and a dove into my magic act, but i am not sure what breed of rabbit and dove to get, please help (rabbit for rabbit in hat, dove for general use) thanks

I've always used Netherland Dwarf and have always found males to be the best.

Never used doves.

When I saw the title of the post I thought you were looking for a receipe.

Though I don't know anything about usage of live animals in magic from first hand experience, I read in Magic & Showmanship that the best way to handle a rabbit is with a faux-fur harness (matching the rabbit's fur) possibly with a bright bow stitched on on it to get a decent grip with.

That way you can avoid picking up the rabbit one handed in a way it doesn't like (scruff of the neck is a bad idea) and it looks cute. People like it when rabbits look cute.
