We know somone who worked on that show and you can take it from us, it was all real, no stooges involved.

yep.. Tom Lauten. He was the prosthetics man who made the mask of the lady.. ( I seem to recall he took it to the first ever meeting of what became Psycretes) :) A wonderfull job.

Ok so that is one woman.. how do you swing it when its a whole audience (either on one of his shows or at the stephen fry shooting where they weren't in the know) you WOULD have to do a debrief for the people who viewed it- and vet very throughly first (bear in mind i only have a degree in psychology not a masters or above, so I'm no expert but it's basic stuff)
I have to say then, if it is all done with real people, i don't agree with the fact he is messing with people's mental health.
It's fair enough your usual mentalism but seeing someone being 'shot' is going to leave you feeling more uneasy than a book test and you never know what people are going to do afterwards, you don't know what has happened to people in the past either (i'v been kidnapped for example- true(!) also been followed home by the army because someone managed to drive into the middle of a convoy while on a roundabout)
and that is tempting fate a bit, it's more disturbing for people than having someone guess what type of hairspray you use.

Also can i point out, I'm not looking for an argument, it seems on most forums if you express an opinion or want a nice (interesting) chat you get branded a troll etc. xx

If not on Sky, 4Music is on Freeview so no excuse not to have it. :)

Not that I know, but I would have expected the audience in the Stephen Fry one to have been pre-warned of what was going to happen without impacting the effect whatsoever; there was no reason that them knowing what was going to happen would have affected the outcome regardless of how it was achieved.

In the Game Show I was interested immediately that Derren Stressed to the TV audience that everything we would SEE for the next 50 minutes would be real; the stress hinted to me that what we were hearing may not be genuine. Either way, as pieces of entertainment I've enjoyed both of these shows and that's the only reason to watch them isn't it?

When Derren said "don't look down"

He must of thought something suspicious was going on

An easier way of demonstrating mob mentality and how humans are not that far away from primate style agression is to go on a magic forum and praise Dynamo or mediums and you'll see it in action. You won't need third rate actors for this either.

Personally, I think Dynamo is awful. He is a massive show off. although the gimmicks he uses are good

Here's the proof that I can make an obvious point far quicker than Derren Brown can. No poor actors or stooges were used. No NLP or psychology was used.
