You could check out 'John Scarne on card tricks', self working / sleightless versions of a lot of your favourite card tricks.

Carlyle's 'the piano card trick' comes to mind

very easy and laymen don't seem to catch on

Also since everyone is being so helpful, does anyone know where to find a version of the Maxi card trick/twist whatever it is called? I saw it on Youtube and it looks great!

You can try ID, doesn't require too much practice (no slight of hand), and can be presented in the very funny way. :)
