Maybe they want to do something a bit different with the deck. I lied I don't use a Sven deck I use a Pop eye Popper but same routine could be done with a Sven. But my routine is not about me finding the card at all.

I don't sell or want to sell Sven decks so maybe I have missed the point of this post???

I don't exactly know what is meant by an "advanced" trick with a svengali deck but there is a great item in "Magic for the Millions" by Greer Marechal which might fit the bill. It is a terrific stabbing trick and you use two decks of cards. It is described with a rough and smooth deck but there is absolutely no reason you couldn't do it with a svengali deck.

whenever I use my svengali deck people demand to see the cards. Is there any way around this? They often snatch it off of me and i am forced to be reduced to a pleading idiot. another problem is that people always want to see this trick and the fact that it is always the same card when they do it ruining the effect :/ any tips?

In Mark's book, 'The Long & The Short of It' there's a nice little routine which transforms the Sven into a normal deck which is, of course, completely examinable.

Yes indeed. I devoted a whole chapter to this problem. There are several ways out of the dilemna.

I thought I would bring this old thread back from the dead since I am delighted to come across this old review of my book on the svengali deck. I am amazed that I have never seen it before.

Nice!
Who would you like to play the part of the hero?
