Crazy Man's Handcuffs

Firstly, I found this to be one S.O.A.B to crack, but I finally got it! I was wondering if you could help me with one slight problem that I can't understand from the diagrams. Once I've done the dirty move, I need to show that the bands are still "together", how do I do this. The move is still very effective, but I would be put at ease knowing that the spectator would be completely fooled.

The key with this effect, from start to finish, is to keep things moving.

That way, it's virtually impossible for the spectator to distinguish the point at which the move occurs.

To show them as looking still linked, wait until they are unlinked (after the 'move' and then hold so that the bands are touching, much as they were before the unlink. (With the stretched, unlinked bands running parallel at 90° angles, you form a perfect square in the centre).

See this image for how it SHOULD look AFTER un-linking. Arrive at this state by simply letting the bands touch. They will APPEAR to be still linked.

The actual revelation of the unlink is always done best really slowly, whilst rubbing the bands from side to side, as if they are 'melting' through each other (in my own opinion!).

This is a fun trick that sits easily in the pocket but a word of warning (WOW!):

Use it judiciously! Too many people bring it out at every opportunity until it gets to the stage that no matter how you present it it becomes tired and worse still - discovered.

Use it for good effect and use it sparingly and this trick will serve you for ever!

Thanks,

Vic
