Strong Magic - Darwin Ortiz

Postby Taylor » Jul 1st, '05, 06:16

I am very comfortable with what I have learnt as regards to sleights and the one or two card tricks I can do but really want some help with the patter and showmanship.

A friend recommended Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz. What do you think??
:D

I've been looking at buying Strong Magic to take on holiday in a couple of weeks - you can see a review here.

I reckon I'll buy it. Also, have a look at Absolute Magic by Derren Brown, and 'Making Magic Real' by Osterlind, available at his website.

To be honest. Paul Danniels or Marvin are good hings to take on holiday as its easy to learn from them, give it ago i find when you want to learn somthing decent and quick, they are the most succesfull and basic.

The one I would recommend is in many ways the bible of such Tomes (although I am sure at least a few will disagree with me).

The book is Magic and Showmanship, A Handbook for Conjurers by Henning Nelms. and I personally have found it VERY useful.

It was I believe reveiwed in this thread...

It's expensive, this magic lark...

Hawk - what did you find most useful about 'Magic and Showmanship' by Henning Nelms?

Do you use any of the effects in it? I use his 'Out Of This World' - I think it's the best version out there.

...mods - bear with me...

OK, OK!
