We used to get up in the morning half an hour before we went to bed ............................................................

At least school in my day taught us how to spell as well as the correct use of grammar. The most advanced computer that I'd seen up to the age of 16 was when someone in the class got a pocket calculator for Xmas and it cost as much as a new bike.

And you tell the kids today ............................

I got a U in English literature!!! GRRRRR!!! 48/100 is NOT a U!! That's just not right!

Thankfully that was just for part of the subject. Got a D overall for the exam.

Grades are:
6 As
3 Bs
1 D

Much better than I expected but still, wasn't expecting a U!

What are GCSEs, are they like tests that you have to take to get into college, kind of liek we take Sats to get into college???

w00t - I got mine!

A*: Biology GCSE

A (but only because there's no A* grade in A-level :D): Hebrew AS, P1 Maths AS

Spanish A2 - ? as it's not in email

Anyway, as far as I know there's no equivalent to the British exam system in America. It's a 4-tier system: Key Stage 1, 2, 3, and 4. Key Stages 1, 2, and 3 are taken during school and then Key Stage 4 (the GCSEs) are taken after leaving school.

After the GCSEs come the A-levels, which are the university (college :)) entry exams. They're not really like the SATs though (afaik) as I had the impression that SATs were more IQ and logic tests...though of course I may be utterly wrong there.

Hope you can understand that...

Kati

That's funny because SATS for us brits are tests for the examiners to find out how well teachers teach and are not really important at all.

but anyway I passed everything YAY!!!!
