Note, just in case anyone is confused here and thinks burning things in your hand is a good idea, it is not. Just because it might not be dangerous in an ideal world doesn't mean you should do it. If you have a defective batch of flash paper it is perfectly possible that it will burn for considerably longer, it will also be a lot hotter than ordinary paper due to the nitrocellulose in it so could result in injury, please don't actually burn it in your hands.
