I presume by "some street magic to people you know," you are meaning more than a couple of times?
Before you do a party I'd suggest you have performed for real people all the effects you plan on using many times. You need to consider that at a party things may be somewhat different to in your living room with 2 friends. For example everyone may be standing or they may all be sitting so you need to be prepared for both. Some may be standing while others are sitting, which has an effect on angles. You may have people behind you, it's not always possible to have your back to the wall, again so angles can be an issue. If you rely on tables to perform your magic on, you may find there are none. Noise levels will be likely to be much higher than your used to. People may come over half way through a trick and then ask to see it from the beginning.

These are some of the issues you need to consider when moving from a performance for a mate to a party. What kind of advice are you looking for?

If your difficulty is just getting the opportunity to perform, then I suggest that when your at the next party, you just get on to the topic of hobbies, at some point you can then mention performing magic is one of yours. If there is any interest at all someone is bound to ask to see some and away you go.

hi we will need a little more imfomation:-

1) your location.
2) what sort of magic you perform ie cards, coin, props etc.
3) wether you intend to start a bussiness or work on the fly.

stage magic and party magic are oposit ends of the spectrum though you will use the same tricks in both they are handled diferently, stage for example involves a lot more selling yourself and building up a pedigree / reputation before you can aproach venues to be booked, best done through an agency.
you will be looking at a large outlay of cash in the short term, parties involve personal seling of yourself and giving out bussiness cards and your rep will be down to word of mouth.

Guys thanks alot for your replies so instantly, like i did mention i have done all sorts taking into mind angles, background and different audiences a few in pubs and clubs but this was the same ie. starting my favourite hobby and themn some on says shows us, i focus on a lot of unknown people to build the confidence.....
people have often said showit again, i suppose this is where the most intelligwent thing comes in where you show them another which creates another applause.....
im thinking of going to main stream what i mean about that is weddings gatherings and a few stage shows, i have almost sorted about 2 stage shows for the diwali festival, see how it goes
