It really does depend on what I'm doing.
If I'm performing a card or money routine then I will probably introduce it as a trick unless it's going towards a mentalism type of routine and then I leave the spec to make up their own mind. I think that most people that I perform to assocaite tricks with money and / or cards or vice versa anyway.
If I'm doing something with a piece or rope then I never use the work trick and I tend to use the word mysterious, concentrating on the effect that you're trying to create for the spec. It's also similar with fork bending which I find if performed right, is very mysetious anyway, so I never refer to it as a trick and again, leave the specs to make up their own mond.
