I was at this yesterday on the
Studio9 stall, but did get a chance to wonder around the other dealers and see a couple of lectures, including Andy Nymans, which was brilliant. He taught us three effects which were stunning to be seen, and so easy in their working that anyone could do them (Nyman says that he likes to keep everything as simple as possible, especially with cards!).
I also got to see half of a lecture on balloon magic, not making animals but performing tricks with them, which was quite entertaining, and if I ever do childrens shows I am sure to use the Escapologist Balloon Mouse trick, which again was simple to do but a very good idea. The lecturer, Ali Cadabera, said that someone he had talked to about this, who had seen it at a previous lecture, even manages to get good mileage out of it at comedy clubs rather than childrens parties!
So in all I had a good weekend, as I got in free and curbed my spending to £50 for the Ninja Rings and DVD (my student loan has to pay for beer as well as magic!).
