I supose that since I'm showing them some magic with coin's it makes no diference if the coin's are odd looking, infact it adds to the effect.
if you intend to use uk curency so it looks impromtu and ordinary then by all meen's pay the extra, if not save your money.
that said the scotch and soda variants have a different method of operation than the coin unique variants so as you have said a swirl vanish and a open hand vanish are not easily achieved but then the idea is the magic happen's in the spec's hands and they end up with two silver coin's.
same idea diferent methods, similar uses but massive diference in price.
